Jennifer Lawrence has revealed the reason behind her telling Robert De Niro to leave her wedding rehearsal dinner.
In a new interview with E! News, the Hunger Games actress opened up about the details of her nuptials with her husband Cooke Maroney, in particular, what it feels like to be a bride.
“It’s so stressful. You’re not having fun. You’re just like, ‘Is that person having fun?'” Lawrence told the outlet, also jokingly adding that being a bride is “awful.”
“I’ll never forget – I was freaking out about the guests being cold,” continued the 33-year-old, who tied the knot with Maroney back in October 2019. “And all of my friends were lying they’re like, ‘Nobody’s cold, nobody’s cold, everything’s fine, everything’s fine.'”

However, it was her mom that delivered the harsh truth.
“My mom was like, ‘It’s freezing out there, your grandmother almost died,'” Lawrence said.
Lawrence then went on to recall another moment from the occasion in which she told her close friend and fellow Hollywood actor Robert De Niro to “go home.”
The Oscar-winning performer revealed that she had been very worried about how the 80-year-old was doing during her rehearsal dinner, especially when it came to mingling.
“I looked over and I saw Bob, who doesn’t know anybody and he’s kind of wandering around, and I immediately was like, ‘No, this isn’t what he wants to be doing. I don’t want him here,'” she recalled. “So I went over and whispered, I was like, ‘Go home’ and he was nice – he like talked to my parents and was polite – but I was like, ‘Go.'”
She admitted that it “just genuinely made me feel better” after he left the party.

Lawrence and De Niro have starred in in three films together: 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook, 2013’s American Hustle, and 2015’s Joy, so they share a close personal bond so I’m sure there’ll be no hard feelings about that latter comment.
The No Hard Feelings actress and her art gallery director husband first started dating in 2018 and tied the knot a year later. The pair welcomed their first child, Cy, in February 2022.

Speaking to Vogue back in September just months after giving birth, Lawrence revealed that she finds it “scary” to “talk about motherhood.”
“It’s so scary to talk about motherhood,” she told the outlet. “Only because it’s so different for everybody. If I say, ‘It was amazing from the start’, some people will think, ‘It wasn’t amazing for me at first,’ and feel bad.”
She then added: “Fortunately I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, ‘It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.’ So I felt so prepared to be forgiving.
“I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?'” she recalled.
Elsewhere, Lawrence also discussed the overwhelming amount of love she felt for her firstborn.
Even when he would do little things, like try new foods, she would be overcome with emotions.
Referring to him as a “daily miracle”, as well as her own “voodoo doll” (because anything that hurts him also hurts her), she said: “I mean the euphoria of Cy is just – Jesus, it’s impossible. I always tell him, I love you so much it’s impossible.”
